Another Android Offering – Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica
After months of speculation on the net as the Galaxy Lite, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica is released in Europe after hitting the Russian markets last month. This is Samsung’s fourth Android smartphone (2nd in Europe) and the world’s first to have DivX playback capability. Samsung had the better sense to rename it other than Lite for it certainly is not a lightweight version of the i7500 galaxy released earlier. The new touchscreen smartphone may have a more modest feature set, but has some power-packed smartphone sophistication tuck up its sleeve.
Android Features
Apart from DivX video playback capability, the Spica runs a dedicated DNSe 2.0 sound processing engine that software-assists its already powerful 800 MHz CPU in handling complex decoding of compressed media files. This enables it media players better processing of the popular audio and video file formats out there. Headphone listening takes two options you can take – one from its 3.5mm headphone jack or from its wireless Bluetooth A2DP support.
The new Spica is a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE on 2G and a twin- band 3G/HSDPA with data transmission speeds of up to 3.2 Mbps for a no-wait internet browsing experience. It is housed in an elegantly styled touchscreen monoblock casing that comes in either black or white body color. It measures 115 x 57 x 13.2mm and weighs 124 grams. WiFi 802/11 b/g is there for hotspot internet surfing as well as Bluetooth 2.1 for high speed local wireless data transfers and synchronization with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Dominating its façade is a 3.2” TFT capacitive touchscreen that can display 16 million colors on a Half-VGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution. Like other touchscreens in its class, the Spica can auto-rotate its viewing orientation according to handset tilt with its gravity accelerometer. Imaging starts with a 3.15 megapixel camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging from its built-in assisted-GPS receiver. There’s no secondary camera to support 3G video calling. VGA video recording, however, is supported.
Like the heftier i7500 galaxy, the Spica runs on the Android v1.5 Cupcake which Android fans hopes to be upgradable to the latest version 2.0 Éclair. It has its native support for Email and IM as well as an internet browser supporting Flash video and YouTube as well as Google apps like Google Search, Talk and Maps including a Java-based digital compass.
Internal memory comes with a modest 180 MB that can be expanded with its microSD slot for up to 32 GB. Its generous 1500 mAh li-Ion battery, you get up to 11.5 hours of talk time and 27 days of standby time on a single charge – one of the best among touchscreen mobiles.
Now Available
The new Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica smartphone has been released in Russia last month and is now available in major European countries with a published price of €320 prior to taxes and subsidies, cheaper than that of the i7500 galaxy. New six to seven-figure opportunity: yet another Internet Hype?
Introduction
If you are anything like me, the words “make money from home”, “home based business”, and “internet business” cause immediate scepticism and eye rolls. We are always being bombarded by businesses, systems, techniques and all forms of propaganda about making money on-line. We hear far more often of the systems that fail than the one that succeed.
We are financially and mentally hurt by the ones that do NOT work. Now, do we know of any business that succeeds on-line at all? I was not sure. So I started to investigate some offers on the internet.
Opportunities
The amount of offered opportunities is tremendous, as I soon found out. I immediately was thinking: “OMG, this will take the average opportunity seeker for ages, to go through these amounts of information”. I mean, if you consider to start an on-line business, than you at least need to inform yourself about what it is and what it can mean for you. And you need to compare it to other offers, is it not? The first one you consider is not necessarily the best one (for you). Seeing how many offers there are (just google the words “home based business”and you see what I mean: around 500 MILLION PAGES are reported to cover that subject). I would say basically it is undo able to really investigate offers, since it will take a life time to only try to find the right one this way.
Back to the Basics
And I apologize because this is what I should have done in the first place. I said to myself: “IF I want an on-line business, WHAT KIND of business should it be? Aha, better start, I think. So now I am on the path to find out what kind of on-line businesses would be available and interesting for me. Googling On-line Business Opportunities does not help much (more than 1 BILLION pages). Now what? Give up? Nope, I really want to become independent, work from home and don’t have a boss. Motivation. Start to think for yourself and make a list of possibilities:
1. Selling my own products
2. Selling someone else’s products
3. Offering services
4. Don’t know yet but probably a lot more
Oke, now I focus on these first three first. I don’t have my own product, so no that skips. Number 2 maybe? Well, perhaps, worth looking into, at least. And finally, Offering Services. This is also a maybe for me. I know now how difficult it is to find good on-line business opportunities, but I am learning and why not help people in a later stage with my knowledge (for a price, of course)?
Opportunities (next stage)
Right, I decide to go first for number 2. I am not a salesmen, as a matter of fact I hate the idea to have to phone someone I don’t know trying to sell something. So I have my doubts but yet again, at least it is worth exploring. And exploring I did. Jeez, it takes enormous amounts of time to do this. After a month’s work in my spare time, I finally had the basics discovered to decide IF: a. there is something interesting for me at all in on-line business and b. what path should I follow? To make it short, and this in no way is meant to discourage you, just to get you SCEPTICAL: the first thing I found out that 95% of the on-line opportunity seekers DON’T succeed. Actually they only lose money, after signing up for whatever possibility. That is to say at least not very encouraging. But I am an optimist, so I said to myself: what the heck, this also means that 5% DO succeed! Compare it to the famous story: Is the glass half empty (pessimist), or is it half full (optimist). OK, Now what? Well, as I discovered, it can be certainly worthwhile selling other peoples products, by promoting their products and earning a commission. They call it Affiliate Marketing (google it: 57 MILLION pages). Yes, I decide to explore that further (57 million is much less than 1 billion 
).
Affiliate Marketing (or: Selling someone else’s products)
“As I discovered the secrets shared, and learned how the business works, I was stunned. It made sense. It was true. It worked, and will work.”. That is what I dreamt about night after night after night. That is what I was thinking about day after day after day. Yet again I faced an unbelievable amount of information, opportunities and opinions to investigate. But it turned out finally, after spending 18 months of research, that Niche Affiliate Marketing ((Niche means: focussing on a smaller part of the general market, for instance: General is: Golf (google: 500 million + pages), Niche could be: Golf Balls (google: almost 15 million pages, but a better Niche would be: Personalized Golf Balls (500.000 pages)) is probably the best business to get into as an on-line entrepreneur. You can promote products (and when there is a sale: get a commission) from almost every on-line company in the world, this includes giants like Amazon and many others. I thought: if these companies offer to join their “affiliate marketing” program, then it had to be worthwhile, would it not? Yes, MAYBE, but how to do it so, that I actually earn money. And after that we need to: How to stay alive without a normal job. And then the next and final step: Earn enough money to become FINANCIALLY INDEPENDANT (the ultimate goal, don’t you agree?). I am facing now yet another learning curve, since offers to promote from others (affiliate marketing) google 58 million results. Now one thing I have learned being an off-line entrepreneur for almost 25 years is that I DON’T want to reinvent the wheel, I rather choose to learn from those who already have proven success, and want to teach us starters how they did it. (On-line they are generally called: GURU’S .
Guru’s
Wikipedia on Guru (just kidding, this is my own definition): “The people who are (or feel they should be) considered as real and proven successful experts in the field of knowledge they want to teach to others.” OK, finding a Guru is the way to find someone who can teach me to become really successful in my on-line business. I felt more and more to choose Niche Affiliate Marketing as my future on-line business, so I started to search for “Guru’s” in this field of expertise.
Disappointment to say the least. This is my personal opinion, guys, so don’t hang me if you disagree, but fact is: I found that the ‘gurus’ were selling re-hashed ideas that never gave me enough information to start making real money. At least, yet again, 95% of them . There are some really good, impressive, outstanding coaches (Guru’s) that can teach you all there is to know about Niche Affiliate Marketing. And yes, I found some, and yes, I am starting to get successful in Niche Affiliate Marketing. So I know now:
Niche Affiliate Marketing
WORKS. BUT……. There are many things to learn (the best is to find a good coaching program, IMO), this is certainly NOT a Get-Rich-Quick-Scheme, like any off-line business you need to learn and work hard to earn.
Conclusion
So to recap my initial question: Do any on-line businesses succeed at all? Definitely: YES, ……. BUT…….. I think if YOU want to succeed on the internet, you should choose to do so in Niche Affiliate Marketing. That is my honest opinion. But it finally is your choice of course. Be always very sceptic on all offers you want to look at, and do that BEFORE you pay, even if there is a money back guarantee (much income is earned from people who sign up for something, don’t do anything with it and forgot about the possible reimbursement). Be aware of the fact, even if you are already an expert in your field, there is lots of things you need to learn to become successful on-line. Even IF you use a Guru. And I certainly recommend a Guru, but yet again, there are only a few people who are really successful on-line and even much and much less really good Guru’s who can teach you to become successful. So beware who you choose as your mentor! Stay always SCEPTICAL!

There are a few savvy web folks who have effectively used keywords and relevant content to generate a huge amount of links to their blog or website. These guys are mavens when it comes to keywords, they know how to choose them, and they know how to optimize for them. In this way, they have managed to organically increase their web traffic without having to pay a cent. These are the masters of article marketing. They are intelligent, savvy people who know how to drive up web traffic.
Then there are those frustrated individuals who, try as they might, can’t write an article to save their life. These people slave away at writing articles to market their website , but no matter what, they don’t get results. They are the cynical types who insist that article marketing simply doesn’t work.
How come we get completely different results from the same method?
A. You Have To Study the Art of Article Writing
Most people lack the humility and wisdom to study the art of article marketing. Just because they know how to write an academic essay doesn’t mean they are article marketing whizzes. In fact, writing marketing articles is a science that can be learned, but only with a humble attitude. If you’re spending all this money trying to bring people to your site, you’d better make sure that site will mesmerize them.
D. Distractions will kill
Writing effective articles requires that you focus intently on what you are doing. Since there are a plethora of other things occurring on the web, it is easy to lose focus. Yet it is crucially important that you maintain intense focus when you are working. This will ensure that you produce quality work.

Those of you that pay attention to the Google Page Rank are still waiting for another Google update. It’s been almost 90 days since the last Google update and word around the web is that Google should be doing another mass update in August.
Many of you built new sites in the beginning of 2007 and still have no Google page rank after all the hard work you put into building out quality back links, optimizing and adding new pages, and every other tedious detail involved with properly optimizing your site for the engines.
Well the word is that the wait is almost over. Google will be updating all its servers and handing out grades in the near future. All the speculation about what will work and won’t work for the best results in your sites placement are about to show themselves.
Once the Google page rank update starts, it will take a couple of weeks to complete so you will probably see some fluctuation in your page rank on different pages of your site for a while but things will settle down and your new page rank will be good until the next update.
Will your Google page rank go up or down on the next massive Google update, only time will tell. If you have done all the work required to rank well, then you will mostly be rewarded a pretty reasonable Google page rank and the other search engine will follow right behind the master.

Perhaps you’ve got an offer you couldn’t refuse for your website. How do you go about moving your joomla site to the new owner? Or maybe your old host provider is no longer able to fit your needs. In either case you will need to be able to move the site and retain all information with the least amount of interruption. If any of the information is lost then you will be up the creek and your potential sale might be lost or worse yet you cannot duplicate the information. Follow these important tips to ensure that this doesn’t happen.
Create a new account with your new host provider. All of this will need to be completed and accepted before anything is done. You will need somewhere to move the site. You might have to wait a couple hours to a day or two until this is activated. Once this is completed you should now change your name servers. This will point your site to its new location so that it can be viewed.
Make sure that you have everything copied and a backup of your site. You should be constantly backing up your site anyway. But in case you haven’t you can start now. You also need to make sure that you have ftp software to complete the site transfer. Without this you can’t do anything.
Paste your information into the directory on new host provider site. Upload the copied or backup information that you stored. Export the new database. Now you need to go to the cpanel or control panel to change your settings. You are halfway through the process. Once you’ve changed your settings you may still need to modify it. It may not perform or look the way it needs to. Keep making necessary changes until it is the way you want it.
Now comes the fun part. Does everything work? If something isn’t functioning properly you need to go back and make sure everything is copied, and all your links are working. Before you cancel off the old host service keep it until you are certain that the new host doesn’t have any problems. You don’t want to lose any traffic to your site while this process is occurring. Make sure that you let your visitors know that you are in the process of moving the site and that you don’t expect any problems but should they happen you will get it fixed right away. The idea of a site no longer working is confusing to your traffic and they may eventually be lost if you don’t remedy the situation right away.
Moving your website doesn’t have to be difficult. Remember the key to any big move is to backup your files in case of loss. Well if you knew what the more profitable keywords and terms are, you can write content and these words can be displayed.
Google Adsense will then look at your page content and work out what to display.
You could double your income by changing words on your site. Maybe Life insurance to life assurance or personal loan to
loans or adverse credit to bad credit.
Also sites tend to use one format and one position for the ads.

Try different layouts and work out which ones work best for you. You may be surprised.

There are several tools that can help you identify keywords but the best for you would be either the Google Adwords program or Overture view bids tool.
Don’t worry about thinking you are doing anything wrong. You can also go to www.youradsenseprofit.com. In fact, think about it – you will be creating relevant content for Google to display and for their users to read. Users are happy, Google are happy and you will earn more revenue from Adsense. So hopefully you’ll be happy too!

Why Internet Explorer 8 is Just Another Headache
It’s the 20th March 2009 and yesterday Microsoft released the latest version of its web browser Internet Explorer 8. For website developers, when Microsoft releases a new web browser this can bring great joy but also great pain because often the new version fixes all the annoying problems with the old one but creates a whole new minefield that developers have to pick our way through. You see, Microsoft’s web browser is by far the most popular of all web browsers, roughly 80% of all internet users use Internet Explorer, however just because a new version is released it doesn’t mean that all of these millions of people immediately upgrade, in fact, very few of them do.
Microsoft last released an updated version of their browser in 2006 and after more than 2 years there are still roughly 30% of IE users on version 6. You might be wondering why this is a problem, well technology always moves forward and that is very true of the tools that web developers use to build websites. In the time since IE 6 was released the tools we use have improved drastically, but they can only be used if the majority of internet users have the capability to view a website when built with them. There are ways to build websites with the latest technology and still have them work with older browsers like IE6 but this requires a lot more work from the website developer. So when all of these millions of Internet Explorer users chose not up upgrade to version 7 in 2006 it gave the developer a massive headache.
Roll on two years and another new version of Internet Explorer, and situation could soon get much better or much worse. You see, Internet Explorer 8 is an improvement on version 7 and a massive improvement on version 6 but it doesn’t really matter if many people don’t upgrade. In fact if people don’t upgrade then it makes the situation much harder to manage than before because this time we have three versions of Internet Explorer rather than two to design for.
What worries web developers the most about all this is that the people that chose not to upgrade their web browser in 2006 for whatever reason, are also likely to decide not to again, so while the percentage of IE6 and IE7 users will go down and the percentage of IE8 users will go up, it will probably be several years before website developers can finally forget about having to design websites for the old dragon that is Internet Explorer 6.
